E-Pattern by Donna Hodson includes color photo, drawings and full painting instructions.
SUPPLIES: This 12” plywood snowflake shape was purchased from Dollar Tree. Another similar
snowflake shape or 12” circle shape would also work. Reduce or enlarge for other surfaces.
PAINT: DecoArt Americana Acrylic
Antique Gold, Burnt Umber, Canyon Orange or similar, Cranberry Wine, Fiery Red (NEON) or Scarlet,
Graphite, Grey Sky, Hauser Light Green, Hauser Medium Green, Lamp Black, Moon Yellow or another
golden yellow, Periwinkle, Plantation Pine, Raw Sienna, Snow White, Tomato Red, Watermelon Slice or
Cadmium Red, Zinc Note: I tried to give an alternative for a possible discontinued colors.
BRUSHES:
These are suggested sizes. Use your favorite brushes.
1” wash and other appropriately sized flats for base coating.
Smaller flats and rounds for features.
Good quality size 4 flat for stripes on scarf
Sizes 0 and maybe 6/0 script liners
½” angle brush or what you float with
Stencil brush or dense foam cosmetic wedge for stenciling snowflakes.
Optional: Small dry brush for cheeks and maybe a spatter brush if you decide to add snowflakes after
painting is finished.
OTHER SUPPLIES:
Snowflake stencil. These are about 2” in diameter. I used Multi Snow Flakes stencil by Tracy Moreau

JoSonja’s All Purpose Sealer or Multi-Purpose Sealer by DecoArt
Varnish of choice. My preference is JoSonja’s Polyurethane Matte varnish.
Cord or wire for hanging. (I drilled a second hole at the top to hang in my window.)
600 wet/dry sandpaper or piece of brown paper sack
Older grey graphite and white if needed
Stylus
